Why I Chose ITB as My Place to Study

I had several reasons for choosing ITB as my place to study. First, I wanted to be an engineer. My uncle said that if I wanted to learn engineering things then I’d better go to a more specific place for technical study—and he said that if he were me, he would chose between ITB and ITS. Those two institutes would be the best places for me if I wanted to continue my education in Indonesia. The second reason—the reason that made me prefer ITB to ITS at last—was because I lived in the town where ITB has been placed. So I won’t have to leave my hometown and my family; I won’t also have to live in a dorm or rent a room or a house. The third—that convinced me that I would make a right decision by choosing ITB—was because ITB had an excellent reputation in Indonesia. I had heard that ITB had “A” accreditations for the majors I wanted to apply—Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering (but then I chose STEI (School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics) to proceed with my study).

ITB as my university

I chose ITB as a place to continue my study. There are several reasons why I chose ITB. First, I chose ITB because ITB has information engineering which is one of my favorite major. Information engineering is one of the best majors in ITB, and I am sure that I can have a bright prospect if I join that major. Second, ITB is located in bandung which is quite far from my hometown. I can train myself to be more self-depended. Third, ITB has a big server which have a million files of mp3, movies, software, etc. I can get them for free if I become their student. Last, ITB has a lot of connection in working world. It means that their graduates can get job easily. Those are the reasons why I chose ITB as my university.

Cleaning People's Nail

I like cleaning people's hand nail. It must be weird for several people. My "weird" hobby began since I was child. I used to clean my family's nail. But only my family's. If I see them with the dirty nail, spontaneous, I reach their hand and then clean it. Though they are holding something. I just don't like seeing dirty nail. That means the owner of the nail is sordid. The other reason why I like cleaning nail is because dirty nail can cause many disease. There is a lot of germs and bactery in dirty nail.

Waiting

I really hate when I have to wait for something. First of all it`s a really waste of time. While I was waiting I can do something else that is more useful to myself.

I Like Music

I really love to listen to music. When I was a little kid, I regularly bought audio cassettes and played it. Now, thanks to the rapid advancement of technology and the weak law-enforcement in Indonesia, I can buy some pirated CDs and MP3s, copy it to my computer, and then move it to my MP3 player. By that, I can play and listen to a lot of music everywhere. Why do I keep listening to them? First, music is the right antidote for boredom, which I often have. I really like listening to the music - and sometimes play it- for several reason. Mainly, music really inspires me and reminds me to survive when I am down. For example "You Raise Me Up". Its lyrics really show me a new way of think and support me to keep looking for a new way out of my problem. So when I need time to relax and "take a breath' from all of my problem, I am listening to the music. Besides that, music also help me to concentrate on something. I am a cat lovers. I really really love cats for several reasons. First, they are cute and tame. They make me happy when i am around them. When i play with my cats, i can forget all my troubles away. Second, they are spoiled. They will snuggle up and ask to be petted, or scratched under the chin. Its behavior even make them cuter. Another reason why i love cats is because cats pretty much keep quiet and are the perfect companion for most people. They not loud like dog. Of course, a cat will occasionally meow, but nowhere near as much noise as a dog. I also love cats because they are friendly. They usually love to be around people. And the last reason why i love cats is because their ease of care. Cats can be left home alon for a few hours without fear. Tekken

Of all the video games I like. Tekken or the king of iron fist tournament was on my top lists. Tekken is a fighting games made and published by Namco. Tekken, now on it 5^th series have a great systems that make it unique than any other fighting games. Some of it which called juggling combo and characters customization are my favorites. The juggling combo for examples is a system that when a character throw or beat his / her opponents midair the character could then follow it with a sequence of moves that will deplete most of the opponent life bar away. It is always fun to see your full health opponent suddenly only had half the amount they should have just from one of the combos. Tekken also have many characters that has significant different one another. The amount of characters greatly improves the game varieties which make it more interesting. The storyline is also well made. The story centered in the family that starts the king of iron fist tournament itself, The Mishima Family. 5 characters out of all were Mishima’s or at least have some Mishima’s blood running through his / her veins. One of The Mishima is my most favorite character which make me likes the story more. And of course with so many characters it is only normal to make each characters have their own story and ending as well. Some of the ending parallel to each other while others just simply funny. I often amazed by some of the ending while the funny one could really make me laugh.

Dance; aTrue Passion

I like to dance very much. For me, dance is more than just aesthetic body movements, it's about soul and freedom. Every time i am on stage, dancing, i feel free to be anyone I like, to dance any character, from sad, shy, cute, mad, even sexy. I feel like the queen of the world when i dance. all those people calling out my name, I own the stage, the audience. I feel like I'm out of my shell, out of the boundaries of life. free of all the disappointment and stress in real life. It is like fading away from reality into my own world. a world which i can decorate with anything i like. This 'on stage freedom' is what makes me love dancing so much. Dance is a part of my life. I will never stop dancing. not today, not tomorrow, and hopefully not forever.

Next reason is by playing video game we can release our stress for a while. Doraemon I'm in Love...

Doraemon, it's the name of my favourite cartoon of all time. Doraemon is a blue cat robot with a round head without even an ear on it. He came from the future by a time machine and has a magical pocket that has so many great things that i’ve ever dreamed of inside. Such as “pintu kemana saja”, “baling-baling bambu”, and the most important is he has a pen that can automatically write all the answers of our test’s answer sheet CORRECTLY!! I’ve been a huge fan of his since I was in the first grade of my elementary school. I love both his movies and comics as well. Therefore, I’ll watch Doraemon anytime I have a chance and I will always be his number one fan because he can fullfill my imagination and cheer up my day.

JUST SWIMMING

Swimming has been an integral part of my life. Personally, I like swimming better than other branch of sports. Therefore, there are three reasons why I like this activity.

First of all, swimming makes me fresher to start and do all my activities in a whole day. In swimming, I get into water and enjoy the refreshing from the water because of the silence when I’m in this place. By doing that, I can feel fresher and avoid stress.

Next reason is about the cost. I tell about the cost because I don’t have my own pool. In comparing with other kind of sports, I don’t have to spend more money from my cash to do it. The cost is in range about Rp 5,000.- up to Rp 8,000.-. So, I get the activity and the extra money.

The last reason of all is the common reason of doing sport activity and that is “to be healthy”. The movement in the water which divided into four styles will coordinate all my muscles and repair my metabolism. My body become healthy because of swimming.

There are the reasons why I like swimming. It’s not just a hobby but a lifestyle for me. Consequently, swimming cannot be separated from BENHARDI.

I like banana so much. It can be a fruit, a cake, an ice cream, or a milkshake. There are many kinds of bananas which is every kind of bananas has its unique to be consumed, for example is 'pisang nangka' that is very delicious when it is fried. Because of that we can create many recipes from bananas and we will not be bored to eat banana. Besides its delicious taste, banana is easy to get and cheap. Although the price is cheap, but banana is very healthy. Banana contains everything a human needs, it contains 75% water, 21% carbohydrate, about 1% each of fat, protein, fiber, and ash, and all the 8 amino acids that our body cannot produce itself. Then banana is good source of potassium and vitamin C. So, there are many advantages we get from consuming bananas.

The biggest thing that I hate is treason. Moreover if it is done by my close friend. Such as exposing my secret to another or cooperating with my rival to make me down. I hate it very much. It has ever been in my life. When I was primary school student, my friend and me made a"small note" for examination. When he had finished. He given it to our teacher. I smiled. I thought that I could finish my examination like him. However, suddenly he told to our teacher that I had a"small note". Finally, she punished me. I was so angry with him! how cruel treason is!. I’m mad about watching movie reviews. One of them is Cinemania at MetroTV. Cinemania is the most update movie review. Almost all of the latest international films are reviewed. The critics always describe the films slightly, so you will be still curious about the whole films. But, the positive and negative aspect of films: story-line, budgets, and so on, is told clearly. These facts really helps me, a movie-goer, to classify what movies that I should watch. In addition, Cinemania is in English; I can improve my vocabularies. The person I love the most

I love my mother. I love her because of her love and care that she gives to me. She always makes sure that nothing's wrong happen to her children. I am a big fan of Linkin Park. There are three reasons why I like them. The first reason is the lyrics of their songs. The lyrics are mostly telling us about human's feeling. They are telling us what a man feels in a certain situation like being lonely, being depressed, being cornered, being forgotten, being thrown away, etc.. The second reason is their music style. They have a unique style in playing their songs. For most of their songs, they combine rap and rock. The last reason is because they put their emotions in their songs. Milk is My Life

I cannot imagine my life without milk. Since I was born until now, I almost never pass the morning without a glass of milk. It gives me strength and fresh brain. I can survive all day without breakfast or lunch but no without milk. Even, if I cannot sleep at night, just pour hot water into the glass with milk powder, drink it, and I will go sleep several minutes later. If I fell hungry and don't want to eat something, I will choose milk to make me fresh again. Also, if I feel tired or exhausted, I will find ice chocolate milk. So, milk is my life.

I Love Reading

I love reading. I can do it everywhere and every time I like. I can read in bus, in the waiting room, in my bedroom, in the library, or in the toilet. I also can read in the afternoon, in dawn, or in the midnight, whenever I like. I am free to choose. Another reason, this hobby needs only simple requirements. Just I and book (or with additional things to help me, such as spectacles) and I can be wandering to all places I like (in my book). This is very easy. The last but not least, I can develop my self in many aspects, directly or indirectly. Reading biography can improve my life motivation. Reading Novels

I like reading very much, especially reading novels. I usually read on the week-end and I can read all day on holiday. I find out that it is really fun to read on holiday and it is also a smart way to spend my holiday with inexpensive cost. I just need to spend about five thousands rupiah to borrow a novel from novel rental or maybe from my friends. I get many new informations by reading novels. I know more about people's characters and also the situation in other's country. I also like reading novels because it gives me some fun. When I feel bored or I have to wait for someone or something, I just open my novel and read it.

Don't Talk too Much

I don't like people who talk too much about their own idea. It's really annoying. Why don't they listen to other people's idea. They're too arrogant to admit other's opinion. They don't give any chance to the other to speak. They dominate the all of the discussion. Being active in a discussion is good, but too much talking is very annoying. They should admit that sometimes people make a mistake and it's normal, but they don't. They thought that they always right and other opinion against theirs are wrong. Persian Cats

I like every cats, but I prefer Persian cats to another cats for several reason. I love to watch Formula One racing. If the race is shown in local television, I will watch it as possible as I can. There are several reason that makes me interested in Formula One racing. First, the technologies that used in Formula One cars are amazing. Start from the body of the cars, the aerodynamic system, the circuit, until the safety of the drivers and the officials. Second, the team strategy makes this race more attractive. When I watch the race, I really really want to know what kind of strategy that the teams use. Because, wrong strategy can affect the result of the race and affect the driver's points too. And last but not least, it's very pleased when my favourite racer, Kimi Raikkonen, can pass another racer and win the race...

Many Things I Like from Computer

Since I was from elementary school, I like playing computer very much, especially to play the games. Now, not only the games I like from computer, but all the functions of it. I Like Chiisana Koi no Uta

Preface:I love Chiisana Koi no Uta, so I want to review this song.I want to tell you about Chiisana Koi no Uta.

Chiisana Koi no Uta is sung by Mongol 800 or usually called Monpachi, a Japanesse Punk-Band. Chiisana Koi no Uta means "A little love". This song tells about someone who loved his girl friend since long time ago, but the girl did not realized his feeling, and he could not express his feeling to her, it is really dillematic. Chiisana Koi no Uta is belonging to one of the soundtracks in Japanesse love-comedy tv series "Proposal Daisakusen" which Tomohisa Yamashita, a cool Japanesse young actor, played the main role. Although this song's genre is love-song, but it has an upbeat tempo which could not make people who listen it turn to cry like other love songs, it will turn you into good mood. Chiisana Koi no Uta is one of the best Japanesse love song that I've ever heard and this song always makes me smile everytime I listen to it.

Drawing

I don’t like drawing because of several factors. First, when I am asked to draw something, I can’t do it quickly. I need a long time to think about what things that I will draw. I often have no idea on it. Then, when I have got an idea about the things, I have difficulties to visualize my idea into a picture. I am difficult to make something into one dimension.

Playing Futsal

I really like playing futsal. I can't miss the game that I have invited in. I feel like I'm attached to this sports,maybe that's because I have been playing it since I was in the elementary school. Playing futsal is fun. When you are seeing your opponents as your friends,the game should be fun. I always try to see my opponents as my friends,so that I can enjoy playing it. I also get a lot of new friends by playing futsal. Like I did in ITB,playing in new 'grounds' and completely different place make me have to encounter many new people. And the result,I have a lot of new friends because of futsal. Not only that,futsal,like other sports,is healthy and refreshing. I try to do it at least once a week. Playing futsal at the end of a week makes me feel relived and like I said before,makes me healthy. That's why I keep playing futsal until now.

I like playing internet. There are several reasons why I like playing internet. Firstly, I like making a new friend. In internet, I can use many services such as Friendster, LiveConnector, etc. So I can easily search and make friends with the others. Secondly, I like listening to the music. And with internet, I can easily download them for FREE. Thirdly, I like sharing my experience in a journal. In internet, I can share my thoughts and experiences by using some services. Lastly, I love to chat with the other. With internet's help, I can chat with my friends in a long distance. Those are the reasons why I like playing internet.

Reading Fantasy Books

I like reading fantasy books especially the modern fantasy ones for several reasons. Firstly, the world of modern fantasy never fails to amaze me. From the diagon-alley in Harry Potter series to the islands of Abarat in Abarat series, the worlds can always awaken my imagination. They are unique and beautiful, yet they are always full of mystery. Secondly, the concept of unknwon world inside the konwn world. For example, the world of magic in Harry Potter series. This concept always reminds me that there are more than the world that I have seen and I have lived in for almost nineteen years. It reminds me that in different environmment, the values are also different. It reminds me that there are many ways to see this world. Finally, the reason that makes me read modern fantasy books is that modern fantasy books keep me imagining. It keeps a part of me - a " little kid" who loves dragons, knights and wizard alive. And this part of me keeps me open minded to any idea, how strange or crazy the idea is.

Cockroaches

I really hate cockroaches. I hate them because of three reasons. First, they are usually live in dirty places so they must be a spreader of diseases. Second, i think the shape of their body are disgusting. I really hate their ridiculous antenna. Third, they always show up in sudden and make me shock. That is such an unpleasant feeling.

Milk

I like fresh milk. It tastes good and gives me much energy to support my activity. Fresh milk can also make my mind bright and sharp. The smell is good to, it stimulates myself to work more rapidly, full of energy, and fast. When my feeling is down, the fresh milk can be "drugs" for me to regain my spirit. And I believe that the milk is one of the most healthy thing that God has given to us. That's why I like it very much. No day without milk !!!

Thing I Really Like

I have many things I like. From watching film, reading, and playing PC games. But what I like most is reading. It's different than any other activities I do. Compared with those who need thinking much (like STUDYING) and moving much (like HAVING SPORT), reading is more relaxing. I just let my imagination flow (if it is a fiction book) or let my mind open (if it is a science book), even let my soul rest (if it is a religious book). But the best part of all of these is let your imagination create something. Reading is different than watching film or playing games. You only have your mind as a visual projection of what you read. It is far different than watching film. I think reading is my most favorite thing to do.

Mosquitoes

Things that I hate most are mosquitoes. These insects are so annoying, especially at night. They bother my sleep almost every night, biting my arms, legs, and any other places they can bite. When these bloodsucking insects bite you, they will leave a red mark on the part of your body which they just bite. Of course this will make you look ugly with arms or legs full of red marks. It also feels kind of itchy when they get on you and start sipping your blood, and the worse thing is, no matter how much mosquitoes you have killed, they keep showing up every day. They also bring deadly diseases with them, like malaria or dengue fever (only some particular mosquitoes bring these diseases). This is what makes them the #1 most annoying insects among the other annoying insects like ants, cockroaches, and flies, in my opinion.

Climbing

I like climbing mountain. It is really exciting for me.I can watch the beauty of nature, feel the fresh air, listen to the peaceful sounds of creatures, and many other things that make me feel amazed. Beside that, it gives me some advantages,not only making me physically healthier and fresher, it also relaxing my mind. It also teach me how to survive and to be calm in every worst situation. Climbing also can make my relation between me and my friends became closer because i used to doing something together with friends, helping each other, sharing one another. So that's why climbing has always been an exciting experience for me.

I very like swimming. Swimming is a good activity. It is very useful for our body. By swimming, we are able to make ourself become health people. We can increase our height and lose our weight. Based on some researches, by swimming our height will get higher so fast that we can reach our maximum height. Swimming is very useful for our mind too. By swimming, we can refresh our mind and create some innovative ideas for our life. Based on some researches, when one's body is in water ( we can deem this as swimming ), he / she will be able to manage their emotion, his / her mind will get fresher, for example many people when they swim can find the best solution for their difficult problems that haven't been solved well for very long period. Therefore, based on all above reasons, we can conclude that swimming can bring many benefits for all of us. These are the reasons why I very like swimming.

Singing is My Life

I like singing very much. I sing everytime and everywhere. I sing whenever I feel alone and bored. I can sing in my bedroom, my bathroom, the classroom or wherever I want to sing. In the morning, I sing spiritful songs to make me cheer to face the day. If I hear a song in the morning, maybe from the radio or my friend’s singing, I would sing it for the rest of the day, seemed like it spinning around my mind the whole day. I can sing in the middle of my activities, such as study and so on. I don’t like silence, I must fill it with songs. In the evening when I’m in my bedroom, I usually listen to my i-pod and start to sing my favourite songs. Sometimes I do that until I sleep or when I can’t sleep, I listen to my i-pod and sing until I sleep.

I Like Discussing

I like discussing especially with people who are courteous, kind hearted, open minded, honest, smart, critical, not dogmatic and not insisting. In many informal/formal discussions, they are treating others as equal as he/she treat him/her self, sharing good things each other and being constructive each other. It's interesting to talk and discuss about anything (except fashion) with these kind of people because it seems like studying different thing by different way. It always makes me know more about hidden facts and makes me more critical and more mature at analyzing something than before. It also helps me open up my eyes to see any problems from the other side and the solution of the problem. Although sometimes discussion becomes a debate until the end of it, its utility forces me to discuss anything with anybody at mentoring, instant messaging, or when me and my friend take a lunch.
