Most of Indonesian independent war veterans have a bad luck. Some of them do not get any good attention from the government of Indonesia. Therefore, they live in a poor condition. Whereas they are the people who fought hard to make this independent country become real.
Their contribution to this nation make us live as good as now. This country could be worse without their spirit to fight.
In my opinion, this case is like a curse to our country because we forget the veteran’s merit for this country. If we have given a good life for the veteran, we may be able to build this country to be developed country.
As a people of Indonesia, we have to concern about this problem. We have to ask the government to give sufficient salaries for the veteran. Otherwise, we can give some suggestions to the government. Such as, make the government ask foreign businessman to take care some Indonesian war veteran. Each foreign businessman should handle 5-10 families of Indonesian veteran. If the government has asked the businessman to take care the veterans, we will be able to give a good life for them.
