Why ITB

There are several consideration why I choose ITB as place to continue my study. First, ITB is the best college in Indonesia. According to my parents opinion's ITB is the best engineering institution in Indonesia. My neighbor who graduate from ITB is wanted by many International company is one of the prove that ITB is the best. Second, ITB is located in Bandung which is near from my hometown Bogor. I don't want to go far from Bogor, because my mother lives alone there. I worry about her. I can easily check on her whether something happen. Third, I want to be able to change Indonesia. In fact, two of six presidents of Indonesia are come from ITB. Many influenced person are come from ITB. I want to be the next person who bring positive change to Indonesia. That is some of my reasons that I want everybody to know.

One of The Reasons Why I Chose ITB

One of the reasons I chose ITB as a place to study is its activity units. So we don't only learn about academic, but also learn about the other things. Those are the way to socialize with other people, culture learning, and the way to develop my hobby. There are about 76 activity units at ITB including the units for learning culture and the units for hobby. The units for learning culture such as the unit for Sundanese culture (Lingkung Seni Sunda), the unit for North Sumatra culture (Unit Kebudayaan Sumatra Utara), and the unit for Java culture (Ludruk). The units for hobby such as Liga Film Mahasiswa for students who have hobby about photography and making movie, Persatuan Sepakbola for students who love playing football, and Apres for students who love music. In my opinion, the unit activity is important, because there is other important thing to do besides study, that is socializing with the other people. When I do unit activity, I can know how is the way to socialize well which is important when I get in public society, not only know how to socialize, but also I can develop my interest and my hobby.

Why I Chose ITB as My Place to Study

I had several reasons for choosing ITB as my place to study. First, I wanted to be an engineer. My uncle said that if I wanted to learn engineering things then I’d better go to a more specific place for technical study—and he said that if he were me, he would chose between ITB and ITS. Those two institutes would be the best places for me if I wanted to continue my education in Indonesia. The second reason—the reason that made me prefer ITB to ITS at last—was because I lived in the town where ITB has been placed. So I won’t have to leave my hometown and my family; I won’t also have to live in a dorm or rent a room or a house. The third—that convinced me that I would make a right decision by choosing ITB—was because ITB had an excellent reputation in Indonesia. I had heard that ITB had “A” accreditations for the majors I wanted to apply—Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering (but then I chose STEI (School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics) to proceed with my study).
