Computer virus is a computer program designed to spread from one computer to other computers, and interfere with files and other programs in a computer. It can spread through the internet (like email, porn sites, downloaded files, etc), computers data exchange on a network, and removable storage media (like floppy disk, flash disk, memory card, CD/DVD-ROMS, etc). It adds its own code to the files and programs to gain control of the infected files when they are opened, so as far as our computer is infected, the virus always runs behind our working in the computer, then our system would be very slow down.

The virus makers make the computer viruses for many reasons. They can use their viruses to delete or change files in the infected computers, steal important information (such as credit card number), cripple the operating system (OS), and even make their names or nicknames famous.

Preventing our computers from viruses is very important, because more and more viruses are created daily. We can use any security or antivirus program to prevent the virus infection, as far as we update it regularly. Actually, there’s no personal computer which is safe from all virus infections, so backing up our important data is a must as after a very dangerous infection.
